Love is in the Air, Old School Blogging

This month for Old School Blogging Elaine, The Miss Elaine-ous Life, is teaming up with Tamara (Like) Camera to ask us questions all about love.

How do you typically celebrate Valentine’s Day?

We don’t do anything big or fancy. We both get a little something for the kids and sometimes each other. I always buy David a card, and he usually gets me one too.

My Valentine

Do you like to get A)chocolates B) flowers C) a sweet card or D) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

A card is a must, chocolates are nice, but I wouldn’t be upset if I didn’t get them, and flowers are a bonus.

Would you consider yourself a “cuddler”? If not, would you at least cuddle on Valentine’s Day?

I’m not a cuddler. I don’t really like being touched all that much. Which sounds like a horrible thing to say, but people are ALWAYS touching me in my house so that’s probably why.

What is your favorite movie about love or with a love story?

Movie? I don’t know. Sixteen Candles? Forrest Gump? I’m not much of a mushy movie kind of person. Love story? Mine and David’s of course.

Do you believe in “love at first sight”? Did it happen to you?

I do. I wouldn’t say it happened to me, but I do remember the first moment I saw him, and I remember thinking, “ohhhh, I like him.” I’m not sure those feelings had anything to do with love though.

Do you believe love can conquer all things?

100%. I believe if we all would just love one another more then we could eliminate at least 95% of the world’s problems.

What is one of the main things you love about your S.O.(significant other)?

He can always, ALWAYS make me laugh, and he knows how to take away the pain. And he believes in me like no one else.

He makes me laugh

If you could have the perfect Valentine date what would you and your loved one do?

My idea of a perfect date for Valentine’s Day (or any other day) is for someone else to plan everything taking into consideration what I like. Shouldn’t be that hard. Right?

Tell me about your first crush!

My first crush was in first grade and his name was Tracy Bryant. I’m pretty sure every other girl in our school had a crush on him too at one time or another. He passed away a few years ago, way too soon. He was a great guy.

Do you have any embarrassing or horror dating stories?

Well there was my first date with David when he couldn’t find his way to my house. Ohhh, do you mean embarrassing for me? Nope. None that I can think of.

Favorite flower?

I really like Gerber daisies.

What’s the first type of chocolate you hope for when you reach into a box of chocolates?

The chocolate truffle with the creamy center. Yum.

Favorite love song?

Apparently I really like sad songs by Willie Nelson. It was too hard to pick so my three are Always On My Mind, Angel Flying to Close to the Ground, and Funny How Time Slips Away.

What is the best breakup song?

I guess this would depend on whether you were sad, angry, or fine with the break up. Sad? I Will Always Love You, The Dolly Parton version because I’m old school. Angry? Something by Miranda Lambert. Fine? Something up beat.

Favorite celebrity couple?

I have no idea. I’m not really into celebrities.

Overall, are you pro- or anti- Valentine’s Day?

Neither. I’m definitely not anti. I think it is a nice day, but nothing special.

If someone did that “Say Anything” boombox thing outside your window, would you be into it, or call the police?

That would depend on whether it was someone I liked or not. Total creeper move if it is someone you are not interested in, but throw some happy feelings in there and it is the most romantic thing ever.

First thing you notice about the objects of your affection?

Their facial expressions and tone of voice. That instantly tells me whether they had a good day or not.

Objects of My Affection

What’s the best thing you’ve ever gotten for Valentine’s Day?

Fancy earrings, and all because of the story. All the best gifts should have a story. If you haven’t read it you totally should.

That was fun. You should try it too. Just head over to their place to pick up the questions and link up your post.

I went back and read the earring story- so cute!

My husband can always make me laugh, too. Sometimes by being completely inappropriate and other people might not find what he said funny, but those things he whispers and then I look the fool with tears streaming down my face, unable to explain why I’m laughing that hard.
