September kicks off festival season in Texas. Local towns hold festivals to raise money for various reasons (usually scholarships) and to increase tourism to the area. They usually go through November and then start back up in March and run through May. The festivals are usually centered around something locally like the Blueberry festival or the Mosquito festival.
This past weekend was the perfect weather for attending a festival. My mom and I decided to take the kids so I could have funnel cake so that they could have fun. We also took Baby Girl’s best friend Miss M. Needless to say the kids had a blast.
Of course we ate tons of great food like corn dogs,
and sno-cones (blue is the best according to Baby Girl).
|No matter how hard I tried I could not get a decent picture of her.|
And the kids rode every ride that we would let them on. Miss M probably would have ridden all of them. That girl was fearless.
|“Da boats” was Bud’s favorite.|
By the time we were ready to leave the kids were so worn out they didn’t even argue with us and fell asleep before we were even five minutes away.
I call that a pretty successful trip.
